Leanne Rosen

Master of Music (Piano Pedagogy)

RCM Examiner

Leanne is a passionate teacher committed to providing high quality piano instruction from a student's very first lesson. She holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Toronto where she specialized in Piano Performance and Pedagogy.

Leanne particularly enjoys working with young children and works to integrate play, movement and variety to keep lessons fun and engaging. From 2016 - 2020 Leanne worked at Kings Ridge Montessori and Little Valley Montessori as a music and French teacher for children ages 2 to 6. 

​

Since 2020 Leanne has been a member of the Royal Conservatory of Music College of Examiners. She has enjoyed meeting and evaluating thousands of candidates from across North America and Europe through both online and in person examinations. Recently, she has taken on the role of training new examiners.

​

During her post secondary studies, Leanne was awarded a grant from the University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies to present her research "Free Improvisation Using Extended Techniques for Beginner Pianists" at the Practical Piano Pedagogy Conference at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio. She was also the recipient of the University of Toronto Fellowship entrance scholarship. In 2015, Leanne received the Open Piano Solo Trophy at the Kiwanis Music Festival of London for her performance of Maurice Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin.

​Leanne has also completed her Bachelor of Music and Artist Diploma in piano performance. Upon graduation, she was awarded the University of Western Ontario Gold Medal for highest academic achievement in her program.
